Ray Bramucci was born in 1934 in Ludlow, Massachusetts to Italian immigrant parents who lived through significant Depression era poverty. With only an 11th grade education, Ray’s career took him from labor union organizer, to a key staff director for a US Senator, then to serving as Labor Commissioner for the State of New Jersey and later to Assistant Director of Labor for the United States. He was a life-long public servant dedicated to the dignity of work.
Through his life he was a friend, mentor and trusted advisor to thousands of people. He was also a husband and father. He had a long relationship with Felician College (now Felician University) whose core principles of standing up for and helping others Ray personified. Felician University owes a debt of gratitude for all of Ray’s devotion to us and we are proud to preserve in a small way Ray’s memory with this web site. We have also named a large gathering place in our Education Commons Building “Ray’s Place-Bramucci Unity Hall. Other artifacts and memorabilia from Ray’s life are on display
